Meet David Despain

CFO of Pioneer Floor Coverings & Design Cedar City Location.

David Despain serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Pioneer Floor Coverings, where he oversees financial operations and contributes to the company’s long-term stability, planning, and growth.

A native of Cedar City, David brings a strong combination of financial expertise, public service experience, and deep community roots to his role.

David graduated from Cedar High School and earned multiple degrees from Southern Utah University, including Accounting, Criminal Justice, and a Master’s in Education. His diverse academic background provides him with a well-rounded perspective on both financial management and organizational leadership. He is also fluent in Spanish, which further enhances his ability to communicate and connect within the community.

Before joining Pioneer Floor Coverings, David served 11 years in the military, during which time he was stationed in locations including Texas and Key West. Following his military service, he worked in law enforcement, continuing his commitment to serving and protecting others. These experiences shaped his strong sense of discipline, integrity, and responsibility—qualities he brings into his leadership role today.

David’s career path reflects a lifelong dedication to service, both in his professional life and within his community. His loyalty to Southern Utah and its people is a defining part of who he is, and it plays an important role in how he approaches his work at Pioneer Floor Coverings.

Outside of the office, David enjoys spending time on one of his favorite hobbies: tinkering with ham radios. This hands-on interest reflects his curiosity, technical mindset, and appreciation for problem-solving.
