Buying new flooring should feel exciting, not stressful. Since 1978, Pioneer Floor Coverings & Design Center has helped Southern Utah families choose, plan, and install floors they love. Our flooring installation process is simple, transparent, and built around your home and your schedule. You always know what happens next, who to call, and when your new floors will be done.
Whether you live near Southern Utah University in Cedar City, off Red Cliffs Drive in St. George, or close to the gateway to Zion in Hurricane, a local Pioneer team is ready to help.
Our Process in 3 Simple Phases
- Reach out your way. Call the showroom nearest you, fill out our online appointment form, or stop by any of our three Southern Utah showrooms. There is no cost and no pressure to commit.
- Get a free design consultation. Meet with our in-house designer at the showroom, or use our Shop-at-Home service and we will bring samples to you. We talk about how you live: kids, pets, sun exposure, cleaning habits, and the look you want. Then we narrow hundreds of options down to a few that fit.
- Try before you buy. Take samples home to see them in your own light. You can also upload a photo of your room to our online visualizer and preview floors in your space before you decide.
- Free in-home measurement and inspection. A Pioneer team member measures every room and checks your subfloor, transitions, stairs, and moisture conditions. Accurate numbers mean you only pay for the material you need.
- Receive a clear, written estimate. Your free estimate lists materials, installation, and any prep work so there are no surprises. We also offer a Price Match Guarantee.
- Explore financing if you'd like. Flexible financing, including 0% options, is available for qualified buyers, subject to credit approval. Ask our team for current terms.
- Schedule your install. We order your flooring and set an installation date that works around your calendar, holidays, and move-in plans.
- We handle the prep. Our crew can move furniture and remove and dispose of old flooring, so you do not have to lift a thing.
- Professional installation. Experienced installers follow manufacturer guidelines for your product and our Southern Utah climate. Every job is backed by our Installation Guarantee.

A Local Flooring Company You Can Count On
Pioneer is family owned and operated by the Wankier and Graff families, who still work in our showrooms every day. Co-owner Glenn Graff has been with Pioneer for more than 25 years. Co-owner Preston Wankier started working at Pioneer at age 14. Sales associate Brian Shaw installed floors for Pioneer before moving to sales, so he knows what makes an install go right.
